Officials from the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority learned that t= hree roof support beams in the 68,000-square-foot terminal had to be re-man= ufactured, potentially delaying the opening of the $30 million terminal. =E2=80=9CWe=E2=80=99re still shooting for July, but it might be a little bi= t later in the month,=E2=80=9D said Mike Bykowski, NFTA director of enginee= ring. The delivered beams were =E2=80=9Ca few inches=E2=80=9D short and sent back= to Syracuse for re-manufacturing, Bykowski said. The new beams should be a= rriving soon. All of the other work at the terminal remains either on schedule or ahead o= f schedule, Bykowski said. The NFTA anticipates work on the airport=E2=80=99s extended runway apron an= d circular roads leading into the new terminal to start in September.
