There is a very good reason why they do not foam a runway these days and that is the aircraft are heavier and therefore with foam will slide and there is a greater chance that the aircraft will good off to one side of the runway. They still do use foam on runways only when an aircraft has a engine fire on the wing and jet fuel is leaking . They do that to contain the fuel from becoming explosive. John W. Swiman KMIA
