The flights will begin as a thrice-weekly service, with flights on Frida= y, Saturday and Sunday. The service will ramp up to five times weekly on Jan. 30, and daily on March 1. The Orlando service will mark additional growth in Song's presence at SF= O. Last month, Song began flying between SFO and New York's John F. Kennedy Airport, and on Sept. 6, Song will begin service between SFO and Boston's Logan International Airport. Delta launched Song two years ago in an attempt to regain market share that it and other mainline carriers have lost to popular low-cost carriers such as Southwest Airlines and JetBlue Airways. Song features all-leather seats, signature cocktails and a sophisticated in-flight entertainment service. SFO stepped up its efforts to attract low-cost carriers after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and a slumping economy pushed down the number of its international fliers, long the airport's mainstay. Low-cost carriers such as Independence Air, Air Tran, America West, ATA and United Airlines' Ted also fly from SFO, the largest of the Bay Area's three major airports.
