The Volare Group in extraordinary administration with the agreement signed with the tour operators Alpitour, Valtur, Triskel, Eurotravel, Costa Cruises and Veratour informs that after formal talks and documental guarantees presented from the new commissar thta from some weeks heads The Volare Group , charter operations will be resumed as far from Dec 27, 2004 from the subsidiary Air Europe, with the B767 - 300 ERs I-VIMQ in operations from Milan Mxp/Rome FCO with the present schedule: Monday: Mauritius Tuesday: Mombasa (Kenya) Friday: Zanzibar (Tanzania) Sunday:La Romana (Dominican Rep.) Thats agreement will allow regular departures for the holidaymakers with packages already planned from the tour operators for the Christmas holidays period and for the full winter season 2004/5 until May. Its reported that 2 Volareweb A320's will leave Venice today. MERIDIANA has informed about the decision to reduce the workforce in a number of 194 units. 30 pilots, 60 cabin crew, 104 administratives and ground personnel especially in the maintenance. With effect Jan. 1st. 2005 Meridiana will add the services for the public service obligation (without compensations funds from the government). 18 are the routes (part are just on the airline network). On behalf of the rules reported in the Government degree they must operate the scheduling for 3 years, apply reduced fares for some categories of travellers (islanders, students, outside Sardinia inhabitants but former of Sardinia while place of birth, etc).
