US Airways Flight Attendants Reach Tentative Contract Thursday December 16, 2:19 PM EST NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--The union representing flight attendants at US Airways Group Inc. (UAIRQ) said they reached a tentative agreement on a new contract. In a press release Thursday, the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA said its negotiators had reached a deal, and union bosses will review the agreement. A new contract would be subject to a vote by union members. The bankrupt airline has been negotiating new, cheaper contracts with all its work groups. Airline executives have said if they can't reach agreements, they will ask the bankruptcy judge to impose wage and benefit cuts. The deal with the flight attendants is particularly important as the union had threatened to strike if the bankruptcy court abrogated the contract. Roger EWROPS
