So... what's the deal?

=20

Ok, so MCI's phycial terminals may not be the best with post 9/11
security.

So, what's the deal with STL? Why is it like the hot potato that no one
wants? Maybe the same could be said about PIT?

What makes a good hub?

By definition, a hub airport is an airport where you have many flights
coming in and many flights going out in a short period of time. The
purpose of all these flights is to take people from one airport to
another airport via the hub. O&D traffic is nice but not necessary for
a hub.

I believe if you have a decent airport layout, you could have a hub with
very little O&D traffic.

MCI failed as a hub because the airlines that hubbed there were
mismanaged. STL failed as a hub because AA didn't need a hub located
just a hour or so from its ORD hub and 1.5 or so hours from its DFW hub.
