What is even crazier is that that the LCCs don't charge fees. While they may offer cheaper fares online, so do the high cost carriers. Now, B6 does give a $3 DISCOUNT for booking online, but that is hardly a 10 dollar mark up In a message dated 9/3/2004 10:55:28 AM Central Daylight Time, damiross2@xxxxxxxxxxx writes: This is pure BS. In the first place, not everyone has Internet access or, if they do, they don't want to book via the Internet. Also, the cost of selling a ticket is part of the cost of doing business. It's also pure BS that "Low-cost carriers often charge a fee on tickets issued with the help of their reservations center or airport staff." (This reminds of what my mom said when I was growing up - "if everyone jumped off a cliff, would you also jump off a cliff?" If the airline saves money by having people self-book, then pass the savings on to them - don't penalize those who don't have Internet access to self-book.
