Hi Al, I'm not necessarily thinking about expansion, per say. I'm thinking about when airports, in the process of expanding, turn runways into taxiways, and completely redesign the airfield configuration. Denver has expanded with the addition of the new runway. And DFW has added 2(?) runways in the past. But those expansions didn't really redo the airfield config. Make sense? It may take awhile. The new Denver Airport is about the only one I can think of that may not have been expanded. The advent of the jet era made most major airports reconfigure/expand. Runway lengths' had to be extended in most instances considerably. Second World War era airports were mostly a diamond configuration. First expansion was to normally lengthen one of the three runways. LAX? DFW? IAD? LGA? ATL? Is there a place I could go to see the difference between then and now? I think I remember seeing an old picture that had a different runway config. What other airports have been reconfigured? Clay - SEA
