I'll go see if I can find any of my charts from the 60-70's.  It may take
awhile.
The new Denver Airport is about the only one I can think of that may not
have been expanded.  The advent of the jet era made most major airports
reconfigure/expand.  Runway lengths' had to be extended in most instances
considerably.  Second World War era airports were mostly a diamond
configuration.  First expansion was to normally lengthen one of the three
runways.

Has ORD been reconfigured from what it originally designed and built? I
think I remember seeing an old picture that had a different runway
config.
