Really? One can trace the problems experienced by the airlines over the past two years to three major (external) forces: terrorism, SARS, and the economic downturn. Now just which of those was management supposed to plan for? Perhaps September 11, the first time an aircraft and ever been hijacked and flown into a building. That seems like a slightly unreasonable thing to ask management to anticipate. I realize that in your view, Dennis, management can do no right and labor no wrong, but I think there is a better middle ground than just saying "management isn't forward looking." -----Original Message----- From: The Airline List [mailto:AIRLINE@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Allan9 Sent: Friday, January 09, 2004 4:07 PM To: AIRLINE@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: The Bumble Bee Stings Can't argue with that rationale Al ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dennis W Zeuch" <DZTOPS@xxxxxxx> To: <AIRLINE@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, January 09, 2004 12:10 PM Subject: Re: The Bumble Bee Stings > why US Airways was caught off > >guard > > Again really bad management causes so many problems that are blamed on ' > high wages ' of the workers..these guys are paid millions and their > only job is > to think and plan ahead for the company. >
