I remember my aunt coming in from DEN on a 747-100 to PIT in the early 80's, and in the mid-80's there was a DC-10 that spent the night at Greater Pitt out on gate 8 or 9 for UAL. I'll never forget watching them knock snow off the top of it one Christmas waiting for our PI 727 to take us to CLT. As for more current times, I've flown a UA 744 IAD-LAX back in 2000 and it was the evening hub rush and she was still not 100% full, I had no one next to me. My return was another first for me (The 744 was new) on a 777 and it was EMPTY.
