Continental Airlines Extends Online Check-In at Continental.com to 30 Hours Before Departure HOUSTON, June 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL) today announced customers may now check in for flights using continental.com up to 30 hours before departure, extending the pre-departure check-in period from 12 hours. Additionally, Continental is offering a 1,000-bonus mile offer for OnePass frequent flyer program members checking in for flights using the new continental.com Check-in service. To qualify, OnePass members must register at continental.com prior to checking in. The 1,000-mile bonus applies once per member. The offer is valid through Sept. 30. "Continental's self-check-in options enable customers to check in when they want and how they want," said a Continental spokesperson. "With continental.com, customers now may check in, print boarding passes, get seat assignments and perform a variety of other functions before leaving home or the office, and then head straight to the gate." Continental was the first airline to offer electronic check-in capabilities, with the deployment of the industry's first self-check-in kiosks in 1995. Today, Continental offers more kiosks per customer than any other major airline, with 720 eService Centers in 119 U.S. airports. With online and kiosk check-in options, fewer than 30 percent of Continental's U.S. originating customers today check in for flights using the conventional ticket counter process.
