The myopia of the US public is that terrorist come in one form: Let me tell you Douglas, I spent most of my life under terrorism. None of the culprits had long beard, headscarf, etc. Of course you can claim that US was hit by one kind of terrorists, I have news for you, they all wore "Western" cloths. Jeans and t-shirts for you.. If you claim that terrorists that hit in the US were in one form , that still is not correct. How about Ted Kazinsky? How about OKC bombing? How about AZ militia that derailed trains.. How about Armenian terrorists that killed two Turkish diplomats in LA ? Sure, the events of Sept. 11 were the biggest act of terrorism. Sure, we all felt terrible about it. But noone asked for this kind of bias to be placed in the minds of 250 million people. What I am trying to say is , screening only people with "Middle Eastern origin" creates a security gap, and it is wrong. Not only moraly, but also logically. There are no buts , ifs, etc. about it.. BAHA Fan of A321 travel, 9A but of course.. :) -------Original Message------- From: Douglas Schnell <dks28@xxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: 06/02/03 08:24 PM To: AIRLINE@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: No Impact on Security, Passenger Wait Times as TSA Reduces Screener Jobs... > > Really? Name the last over-70 terrorist _of the type at issue here_. (That is, Cuban dictators and the like don't count because they aren't passing through US airport security.) -----Original Message----- From: The Airline List [mailto:AIRLINE@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Alireza Alivandivafa Sent: Monday, June 02, 2003 7:32 PM To: AIRLINE@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: No Impact on Security, Passenger Wait Times as TSA Reduces Screener Jobs... Now that is not true. There are some parts of political correctness that are good: Flight attendents, -person words, and some that are not (Differently abled). No one should get more or less attention, since the attention paid should filter anyone. Remember, terrorists have come in all different styles (including old people) >
