Negotiations Between Air Canada and ACPA Continue; Business as Usual for Customers MONTREAL, May 30 /CNW Telbec/ - Air Canada will continue negotiations over the week-end with the Air Canada Pilots Association (ACPA) with the objective of concluding an agreement prior to midnight Saturday, May 31 in compliance with the direction of Mr. Justice James Farley of the Superior Court of Justice of Ontario. Should an agreement not be reached by the court-imposed deadline, the parties have been directed to appear before Mr. Justice Farley at 8:00 a.m. EDT Sunday June 1 to obtain further direction from the Court. During this time, Air Canada wishes to reassure it's customers that its business as usual with all flights operating as scheduled. Air Canada has reached tentative agreements relating to labour cost realignment in CCAA with all its unions except ACPA. At 11:00 a.m. EDT today, ACPA tabled a proposal to the company in respect to its contribution to the labour realignment. ACPA's proposal provided temporary wage cuts but did not include the necessary productivity improvements. The proposal was significantly below the required target for this labour group and it could not be accepted as it would have placed in jeopardy the recently completed tentative agreements with the other eight unions at Air Canada and Air Canada Jazz. *************************************************** The owner of Roger's Trinbago Site/TnTisland.com Roj (Roger James) escape email mailto:ejames@xxxxxxxxx Trinbago site: www.tntisland.com Carib Brass Ctn site www.tntisland.com/caribbeanbrassconnection/ Steel Expressions www.mts.net/~ejames/se/ Mas Site: www.tntisland.com/tntrecords/mas2003/ Site of the Week: http://www.caribbeanfloral.com TnT Webdirectory: http://search.co.tt *********************************************************
