The Miami-based cargo airline expects to make the change on June 30, the same day that a group of U.S. investors led by DHL Airways chairman and chief executive John Dasburg is set to buy the company for $57 million. Deutsche Post, the German postal system, currently holds a 25 percent voting stake in DHL Airways, which critics and competitors say violates U.S. law limiting the stake a foreign entity can hold in a domestic airline. The U.S. Department of Transportation is investigating. The airline's biggest customer, DHL Worldwide Express, is the U.S. partn= er of Deutsche Post. The company said the name change will reinforce the reality that DHL Airways is not a corporate affiliate of DHL Worldwide Express and does not intend to confine its commercial activities to fulfilling its contract with DHL Worldwide Express. In the coming months, the airline will incorporate the new name and logo throughout all of its marketing and operations functions. =20 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Copyright 2003 AP
