At 11:37 AM 5/21/2003 -0500, Roger shipped us a news article: >Gerard Arpey, the new chief executive of AMR's American Airlines, said the >airline will be adding seats back to about 174 planes by early next year >in markets where price is the most important factor for travelers. "Less room throughout coach! Less room throughout coach!" This pretty much kills any interest I have in exploring AA as an alternative to UA now that I'm just one of the masses to UA. I enjoyed the MRTC when I flew AA to DFW last February, but can I count on AA having MRTC when I want/need it? I'm pretty sure they won't use A300s on any routes I'm likely to fly, but now I'd have to start watching schedules to make sure I don't end up on a 757 instead of an MD-80 or 737-800. That is, of course, until they decide to LRTC the MD-80s and 738s. Yo, Delta or Continental! Marketing opportunity! Step up and take AA's niche for those of us who care about legroom. :-) Sigh, Nick
