Re: Airport official: replacement for United may be necessary

I happen to have my ticket for a trip I made SEA-DEN last month for business. If someone can tell me what the code is for the pax-fee, I'll find it on here.

I've also wondered why they used DEN. DEN was for Stapleton. I guess they figured it would have been too much of an effort to change it since Stapleton was going away anyway. The locals (I was once one) call Denver International DIA, just like the people in Kansas City refer to MCI as KCI.

I think the expense of operating at DEN is why Southwest won't fly there. I've always wondered with Southwest preference for using smaller airports (i.e. DAL, HOU), if they'd ever fly into Colorado Springs (COS). What do you all think? It could open up the Colorado ski traffic in the winter and the tourist traffic in the summer.

My Denver office is almost on the Centennial Airport (APA) airfield. I remember when I lived there, the FAA told APA to open itself up to scheduled flights, and APA said no. The FAA pulled it's funding but the airport is so busy they can operate without it. If APA opened up, do any of you think Southwest would look there?

What is the PFC at DEN anyway? And why did they use the code DEN, when DIA
was obvious. I know LAX is finally going to go to 4.50, hopefully they wont
use it to bulldoze half the airport like Hahn wants
