I was at LAN Chile Cargo tonight and found out through CNN espanol (they have monitors tuned to it) that LAN Chile won the award for best airline in the Carib, Central and So Am. Although no US carriers were in that category, it reminded me that for a while people I know traveling to So Am would rather fly non american carriers because of their superior service (specially food) compared with US carriers. I can't compare, my only commercial flight south was on a AA752 pre 9/11 and before the more legroom arrangement. The service was nothing worthy to advertise about. Cheers, DM Wishing pilots would let you know of the areas you are overflying (specially on a/c w/o pax entertainament!).
