AmWest Cuts $100m

Phoenix based America West Airlines is battening down the hatches by looking
to cut $100 in expenses this year while keeping their flying schedule intact.
On the hit list is a 10% reduction in management and vendors are being asked
to reduce charges by 20%. Say that Airbus A320 leases for $250,000 a
month...Cactus wants to lease it for $200,000 a month. It's an interesting
approach to cutting costs as unlike other airlines America West is not
considering bankruptcy...at least not at this time!
