Europe - West Africa routes

Here?s a question for some of our list experts. I was doing a search in
Sabre and found some interesting city pairs between Europe and western
Africa, principally on Air France but also on SN Brussels and Swiss. Some of
these include:

CDGNIM Niamey, Niger
CDGNKC Nouakchott, Mauritania
CDGOUA Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso
CDGCKY Conakry, Guinea
SSGZRH Malabo, Equatorial Guinea
BGFCDG Bangui, Central Africa
BRUKGL Kigali, Rwanda
BRUROB Monrovia, Liberia
CDGCOO Cotonou, Benin

My area of expertise is in Latin America, so I apologize in advance of any
ignorance. Any idea what these markets principally serve, ie, oil, VFR,
former colonial alliance, etc.? It would appear based on frequencies,
published fares, and aircraft type that they would net good yield ? but I
don?t know anything about most of these smaller cities.

Also, is there adequate security and international hotel facilities for the
crew or, like in the case of AA in Colombia, do they use locally-based cabin
crew or dead-head a second crew to operate the turn and don?t layover at
all?

In the case of SN Brussels, it says that flights are operated by Birdy
Airlines. Anyone know anything about them?

Thanks,
Brian
