In the late 1970s, the original Frontier Airlines purchased several PTVs to
serve remote gates at Denver-Stapleton. The PTVs were painted in Frontier's
full orange / red colors. Like Frontier's aircraft, the stripes went over the
roof of the PTV's!

Frontier sold some of the PTVs to American in 1982. American had added
several gates in terminal 2E at Dallas/Fort Worth to supplement the
facilities in terminal 3E that AA had occupied since DFW opened. AA used the
PTVs to shuttle passengers between terminals 2E and 3E until the moving
sidewalk between the two terminals was completed. One of the PTVs appears in
an aerial view of AA's DFW terminals in AMR Corporation's 1982 annual report.
