Aloha closer to securing loan guarantees Three more unions representing Aloha Airlines employees have approved new contracts that include pay cuts. About 93% of the members of the Association of Flight Attendants at Aloha, which represents 370 flight attendants, voted to ratify the pay cuts. Members of the Transport Workers Union, which represents about 26 dispatchers and flight schedulers, approved similar pay cuts. Local 1245 of the International Association of Machinists said earlier last week that more than 80% of its members who cast ballots voted to ratify the pay reduction plan. Members of the Air Line Pilots Association, which has about 278 employees at Aloha, informally voiced their support after an earlier presentation about the pay cuts. The airline has asked all of its 3,000 employees to take pay cuts to save $37 million during the next three years in an effort to get a federal loan guarantee it applied for earlier this year, for which it was given tentative approval Nov. 5.
