A security guard at London's second largest airport, Gatwick, has been diagnosed as suffering from Legionnaire's disease. The man, who has not been named, works for a security company at the airport's North Terminal and is being treated in a Surrey hospital. He is said to be responding well. The security company is contracted by British Airways. An airport spokesman confirmed that the man worked at Gatwick, but said there was no evidence that he contracted the illness while at the airport. Officials are also emphasizing that there is no risk to passengers or staff. The source of the disease is usually traced to air conditioning or water cooling systems. The airport says that its own systems are subject to regular and thorough inspections. Leo/ORD Email me at KLM_India@yahoo.com or LFutia@aol.com. The choice is yours. Take your pick! I check both.
