United Airlines unions offer $5 billion in cuts = = Wednesday September 25, 7:53 PM EDT = CHICAGO, Sept 25 (Reuters) - The coalition for five unions at United Airl= ines on Wednesday said it offered the No. 2 U.S. carrier $1 billion per y= ear over five years in wage cuts plus other undetermined concessions to h= elp the airline get loans but the group had not decided how to divide up = the sacrifices. In a letter to UAL Corp. (UAL) Chief Executive Glenn Tilton, the coalitio= n said: "We stand ready to negotiate and implement a recovery program tha= t will provide United with $5 billion dollars in labor cost savings over = the next five years."
