Well, it *is* an AP article, after all.

And it's not just planes they're clueless about.  They have trouble with
cars, too.  An AP article that ran in Wednesday's Honolulu Star-Bulletin
regarding new-car depreciation managed to contradict not only itself,
but the accompanying chart.  The text of the article stated that
Volkswagens were expected to best retain their value, then later goes on
to state that Mercedes-Benz leads the luxury automobile category, with a
figure that it better retains its value than VW.  For the record, BMW
and Acura also scored higher than VW according to the accompanying
chart, but both are also in the luxury category.  I assume they meant
that VW did best among non-luxury autos, but that's *not* what the
article said.
