I believe the problem is that the flights from LAS are not "to" the Grand Canyon, as in point to point transportation - they are tourist sightseeing flights, which fly from LAS to the Grand Canyon area, tour the Canyon and nearby sights, and return to LAS without landing. I don't think there's scheduled service to GCN, but there are air taxi ops. Plus, in 1996 sightseeing flights over the Grand Canyon were sharply restricted.
