There have been instances where following a TCAS RA has put an acft into conflict with a third acft. ATC instructions should be followed because only the guy on the ground can see the big picture. The passengers have to trust the pilot and the pilot has to trust ATC. It works 99.9999% of the time only in this case it doesn't appear to have. Grant SYD QF
