Swiss man charged in air rage incident CanWest Interactive Tuesday, June 18, 2002 A 60-year-old man from Switzerland is being detained by police after a flight from Toronto to Vancouver was diverted to Winnipeg The man allegedly became enraged and began assaulting the flight's crew members. The plane was diverted to Winnipeg just after 5:30 p.m. Monday. The man was arrested without incident. Ernie Schenkel from Dubendorf, Switzerland is charged with assault, causing a disturbance and mischief.
