A failed attempt to hi-jack an Ethiopian Airlines flight on its way to the country's capital, Addis Ababa, ended with two men being shot and killed by security guards, according to media reports.Ethiopia's state-controlled radio said that the attempted hi-jack took place on Sunday during a domestic fight from Bahir Dar in the north of the African country. The shots were fired by security men on board the Fokker 50 aircraft after the men, both in their early twenties, got up from their seats and shouted that they were taking over the plane.A flight attendant is reported to have been slightly hurt in the incident, which happened 30 minutes into the flight, but none of the 42 passengers were injured.A spokesman for Ethiopia's civil aviation authority confirmed to the radio station that the men had been shot dead by security agents but said the motives of the hi-jackers were not known. The plane continued its journey to Addis Ababa where it landed safely.
