Soviet-made actually, but if you want to be nitpicky, it is Ukrainian made.
I can hardly wait until Reuters reports a crash of a Canadian-made Boeing.
After all, the Canadians make like a bolt or nut or something like that. ;-)

Who owned the plane? Probably someone of the like of Viktor Bout (or Viktor
Butt or one of his other aliases)
Where had it come from? God only knows
Where was it heading? Probably Sierra Leone
What was it carrying? Knowing that area of the world and the An-12 and other
cargo operations in the region, my guess it would have been carrying guns
and other weapons destined for either the black market or one of the warring
factions in Sierra Leone, or maybe even Liberia. This is exactly the type of
operation which Viktor Bout is renowned for, and I wouldn't put it past him.
