On a recent roundtrip with NW from MCO-DTW-BDL and back, I thought
customer service was equal or better than I've had before. NW did a
great job in my opinion. Interestingly, the only problems I had were
with security people. I found that nothing was clearly
labeled...meaning, they don't tell you exactly what you have to do before
going through security. We never had to take off jackets before, but
when I went through Orlando (MCO), I was yelled at to take it off because
it was not properly marked anywhere. Security personnel are on a big
power trip now and they seem to forget that a lot of people haven't flown
since 9/11 and are not aware of the new rules. I think that the job can
still be done with a smile and without being assholes. Maybe people
wouldn't have so much air-rage. But, then again, no one seems to notice
in the aviation industry that customer service is king a lot of
times....that and price. Its usually the first thing to go. A shame,
really.
