I saw a number a while ago, and it is not trivial. I don't remember if =
it was in the tens or the hundreds per year. Since in general the =
airline will deny the connection between a flight and the condition, =
statistics may be non-exitent. The following CNN Story:

http://www.cnn.com/2001/HEALTH/03/12/air.thrombosis.02/index.html

says "the condition has been blamed for at least 30 deaths in three =
years at just one hospital in London, England. A study of cases at =
Ashford Hospital, just minutes from the city's Heathrow Airport, =
revealed that though deaths are relatively rare, the condition is =
causing growing concern."=20

Most if not all the previous cases have occurred after deplaning.

The airline in this case was Singapore (SQ).
