http://www.indystar.com/article.php?airportpm1217.html,news Associated Press December 17, 2001 A concourse of Indianapolis International Airport was evacuated for about 40 minutes this morning as authorities searched for a sharp item that slipped through a security checkpoint. Confusion over who was inspecting a bag allowed the unidentified item to escape inspection, airport spokesman Steven Follis said. Security personnel contacted US Airways about 9:35 a.m. and the concourse was closed, evacuated and thoroughly searched shortly thereafter, Follis said. One aircraft, US Airways Express Flight 4757 en route to New York’s LaGuardia Airport, was deboarded and the 11 passengers re-screened by security personnel. Between 50 and 100 people were evacuated from the concourse while authorities emptied trash cans and searched the area, Follis said. The concourse was reopened about 10:15 a.m. The item was not found, he said. _________________________________________________________________ Join the world’s largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com
