config.sub has canonicalized these since config.git commit 
1b5f226b2df5732746f421d1ff9b9cd143f2c9da (Sat Jan 28 21:32:55 2012 +1100).  
The canonical form is <cpu>-<vendor>-linux-android, following the 
<cpu>-<vendor>-<kernel>-<os> convention.

And -ios support was added to config.sub in commit
