Hello - I'm new to yum and have not been able to find any install/uninstall instructions. I've looked all over the Linux@Duke pages and Google. So I've attempted it on my own, trying both the source (make, make install) and the rpm. I've also tried rpmbuild --rebuild <package>. After both attempts I always get the following message: <lnx00:~>$ yum There was a problem importing one of the Python modules required to run yum. The error leading to this problem was: No module named yum Please install a package which provides this module, or verify that the module is installed correctly. It's possible that the above module doesn't match the current version of Python, which is: 2.3.4 (#1, Feb 2 2005, 11:44:49) [GCC 3.4.3 20041212 (Red Hat 3.4.3-9.EL4)] If you cannot solve this problem yourself, please go to the yum faq at: http://wiki.linux.duke.edu/YumFaq I am running RHEL4 with the current version of Python and gcc. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Randy Weytens
