I went through this exercise for RHEL4 box, i386. This works for me, your mileage may vary. Not using the latest version of yum though so you may want to update some of these packages. Methodology should be the same. Download yum-2.4.2-1.src.rpm rpmbuild --rebuild yum.2.4-2-1.src.rpm creates /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/noarch/yum-2.4.2-1.noarch.rpm rpm -Uvh sqlite-2.8.16-1.2.el4.rf.i386.rpm (Dag) rpm -Uvh python-sqlite-0.5.0-1.2.elr4.rf.i386.rpm rpm -Uvh python-urlgrabber-2.9.6-1.2.el4.rf.noaarch.rpm rpm -Uvh ptyhon-elementtree-1.26-1.2.el4.rf.noarch.rpm (not sure I really needed this one) rpm -Uvh python-celementtree-1.0.2-1.2.el4.rf.i386.rpm rpm -Uvh yum-2.4.2-1.noarch.rpm rpm -Uvh yum-utils-0.3.1-1.fc4.noarch.rpm ( I need for repository) rpm -Uvh createrepo-0.3.1-1.noarch.rpm JG Weytens, Randy J. wrote: > Hello - > > I'm new to yum and have not been able to find any install/uninstall instructions.
