I was applying RHEL4 U1 updates on a bunch of machines, and every once in a while I'd get the below error. I'd run the yum (2.2.1) command again, and it would go through. Could this be a problem with yum, or do I need to look at my Apache webserver for a root cause? I have literally 1000s of machines using yum from my webserver without a hitch like this before... and I've never seen this kind of error message: Downloading Packages: (1/45): system-config-lvm 100% |=========================| 71 kB 00:00 (2/45): gcc-c++-3.4.3-22. 100% |=========================| 2.4 MB 00:02 (3/45): xorg-x11-6.8.2-1. 100% |=========================| 13 MB 00:07 (4/45): xorg-x11-xauth-6. 100% |=========================| 271 kB 00:00 (5/45): autofs-4.1.3-131. 100% |=========================| 196 kB 00:00 (6/45): mkinitrd-4.2.1.3- 100% |=========================| 93 kB 00:00 (7/45): kernel-2.6.9-11.E 100% |=========================| 9.6 MB 00:07 (8/45): glibc-2.3.4-2.9.i 100% |=========================| 5.0 MB 00:04 (9/45): mysql-4.1.10a-2.R 100% |=========================| 3.5 MB 00:03 (10/45): xorg-x11-libs-6. 100% |=========================| 2.6 MB 00:02 (11/45): gcc-java-3.4.3-2 100% |=========================| 1.8 MB 00:02 (12/45): xorg-x11-xfs-6.8 100% |=========================| 306 kB 00:00 (13/45): cpp-3.4.3-22.1.i 100% |=========================| 1.6 MB 00:01 (14/45): kudzu-1.1.95.11- 100% |=========================| 322 kB 00:00 (15/45): libgcj-3.4.3-22. 100% |=========================| 5.4 MB 00:04 (16/45): pam-0.77-66.5.i3 100% |=========================| 1.8 MB 00:01 (17/45): hwdata-0.146.10. 100% |=========================| 251 kB 00:00 (18/45): rpmdb-redhat-4-0 100% |=========================| 31 MB 00:17 (19/45): glibc-common-2.3 100% |=========================| 14 MB 00:08 (20/45): xorg-x11-twm-6.8 100% |=========================| 330 kB 00:00 (21/45): kernel-smp-2.6.9 100% |=========================| 9.3 MB 00:06 (22/45): redhat-lsb-1.3-1 100% |=========================| 15 kB 00:00 (23/45): kernel-utils-2.4 100% |=========================| 543 kB 00:00 (24/45): libgcj-devel-3.4 100% |=========================| 918 kB 00:01 (25/45): xorg-x11-font-ut 100% |=========================| 294 kB 00:00 (26/45): libstdc++-devel- 100% |=========================| 8.6 MB 00:05 (27/45): glibc-devel-2.3. 100% |=========================| 1.9 MB 00:01 (28/45): libstdc++-3.4.3- 100% |=========================| 274 kB 00:00 (29/45): pam-devel-0.77-6 100% |=========================| 81 kB 00:00 (30/45): nscd-2.3.4-2.9.i 100% |=========================| 116 kB 00:00 (31/45): xorg-x11-depreca 100% |=========================| 258 kB 00:00 (32/45): device-mapper-1. 100% |=========================| 287 kB 00:00 (33/45): comps.rpm 100% |=========================| 5.3 kB 00:00 http://myownserver/mirrors/redhat/linux/enterprise/4/en/os/i386/RedHat/base/comps.rpm: [Errno -1] Package does not match checksum Trying other mirror.
