I had to updated the initrd.img used to boot the system (the one in the
/tftpboot directory) by adding the e1000.o module and some related
information.

Here are instructions on doing it for RH7.3, should be similar for AS 2.1.

Subject: PXE building from a e1000 network card with 10/100 router

Hello,
I have a IBM x345 with 2 integrated Intel 1000 network
card (e1000) I am trying to run a kickstart
installation using dhcp, pxe, tftp, and nfs. The x345
boots and performs the pxe request and retrieves the
vmlinuz, and initrd.img, but when it gets to anaconda
it performs a ip request and a few minutes later it
returns a error "/tmp/ks.cfg" not found.

Is there anyway to force the e1000 driver to go 100
full duplex instead of auto negotiating with the
router which is set to 10/100 Full Duplex

Now this kickstart setup works for a x330 with built
in 10/100 Intel cards.

Any Ideals

The boot image I am using is from redhat AS 2.1 in
/images/pxeboot/initrd-everything.img
/images/pxebott/vmlinuz
