RE: problems with clearpart

I haven't experimented with this on 8 or 9 but I've experienced this on 7.1.
For some reason, even if the drive is not listed in the KS file, if
clearpart is used anaconda will wipe out the partition table on all drives.
What I ended up doing was bypassed anaconda's drive partitioning routines
completely and use our own scripts to do the partitioning and formatting (we
also needed the modifications to support reiserfs).

I don't know if this is still an issue with 8 or 9.

I would imagine the --initlabel is the problem.

Subject: problems with clearpart

Hi all,

i have to install some server with special partitions on it (like dell
utitlity partition).
So i used:

clearpart --linux --initlabel

in my ks.cfg to clear only the linux partitions (if i reinstall a system).
But after install all partitions were cleared and only the new linux
partitions were on the disk.

Any solutions ?

Cheers,
Ronny
