RH 7.1's bootnet.img doesn't have support for the tlan driver so I am attempting to get the boot floppy to find my device and install the tlan driver so I can complete my network install. It works flawlessly for RH 6.2. I have added the driver to the initrd.img under modules after mounting using loopback the bootnet.img and the initrd.img. This was an arduous task as there are a number of steps involved. The tlan.o driver I used came from the 7.1 distribution under RedHat/base/stage2.img (after mounting that with the loopback option). Then I inserted a few lines in modules-info for the tlan and editted the pcitable file adding lines pertaining to tlan that I found in stage2.img. Here are those modifications: module-info: tlan eth "ThunderLAN" pcitable: 0x0e11 0xae32 "tlan" "Compaq|Netelligent 10/100" 0x0e11 0xae34 "tlan" "Compaq|Netelligent 10" 0x0e11 0xae35 "tlan" "Compaq|Integrated NetFlex-3/P" 0x0e11 0xae40 "tlan" "Compaq|Netelligent 10/100 Dual" 0x0e11 0xae43 "tlan" "Compaq|ProLiant Integrated Netelligent 10/100" 0x0e11 0xb011 "tlan" "Compaq|Integrated Netelligent 10/100" 0x0e11 0xb012 "tlan" "Compaq|Netelligent 10 T/2" 0x0e11 0xb030 "tlan" "Compaq|Netelligent WS 5100" 0x0e11 0xf130 "tlan" "Compaq|NetFlex-3/P ThunderLAN 1.0" 0x0e11 0xf150 "tlan" "Compaq|NetFlex-3/P ThunderLAN 2.3" I feel I am very close but it is still not working. During the boot process I see the following messages after doing an F3: * probing buses * finished bus probing * found suggestion of tlan * found tlan device * found devices justProbe is 0 * ging to insmod tlan.o (path is NULL) at this point the install displays the window suggesting I select a network card. Any idea what could be wrong? Am I missing a module dependency. There weren't any dependencies for tlan in stage2.img. Does anaconda look for the module anywhere else? Thanks very much for your help. --patty
