Ensure the BIOS or UEFI is the latest. ACPI is part of power management, and you definitely want to run the latest firmware for power management related issues like this. You might still see acpi messages in dmesg with the latest firmware, but the problems usually go away after the update. I think the ISO issue is a different issue.
