In the past, anything you searched for you always had to think about what you read, and could look for corroborating info. But the AI thing is "asking the oracle" for advice (there's a fable in there), and people have too much blind faith. AI is An Idiot. It doesn't really understand things, it just parrots hearsay. And more AI is their around, the more it's going to be listening to other AI nonsense. In one sense it's little different from the wisdom of idiots that you get when discuss issues with people. With the exception that (in the past), people who'd grasped the wrong end of the stick would get corrected. I virtually ignore all "how do I" advice from Ubuntu forums for the same reason, they were full of the blind leading the blind. The new Windows generation of not knowing how computing works, and just faffing around until something seems to work. -- uname -rsvp Linux 3.10.0-1160.119.1.el7.x86_64 #1 SMP Tue Jun 4 14:43:51 UTC 2024 x86_64 Boilerplate: All unexpected mail to my mailbox is automatically deleted.
