No, the allegation was that disparaging comments directed at the code are perceived as impuning the character of the code's source, and not the character who's using the code.
This is not the first time I've came across such a thing, and this defensive reflex is as old as Linux is.
Since the given code was purportedly the result of a well thought out decision, making fun of it might be the only way to get rid of it. An ordinary bug report would simply be an invitation to a closed NOTABUG.
No, that's not what will happen. What will happen is: absolutely nothing. Crickets will chirp for about a year, or a little bit more, and the bug will get closed after the release EOLs.
