FWIW, rkhunter has a history of occasional "false positives" as changes
occur.
Actually, my experience with rkhunter has been better than what that
sounds. Most weeks, I do get warnings in the files properties checks
part of the scan. I don't know what rkhunter looks at under the hood in
that part of the scan, but I take it to be something that patching often
changes (file size, file date, checksum, etc.). I do a "rkhunter
--propupd" to clear the warnings, and then forget them. My memory ain't
what it used to be, but I don't recall seeing any other kinds of
errors/warnings except warnings of creation of a new group or user until
today.
