I don't think you can undo what's already been done. If you email a
public list, your email is going to get exposed somewhere. You have a
few options to mitigate the issue *ahead* of time:

 * Don't post anything (not really practical).

 * Use a disposable address for public posts, or at least don't use
your personal address that you give to people you trust.

 * Post using an address that filters all mail to it, only allowing
whitelisted addresses (such as the mailing list) to get through.

 * Use spam filtering, and live with having to continually maintain it
like a tamagotchi, forever training it to recognise new spam that it
let through, and to not reject the mail you actually wanted.
Visiting your junk mail filter to look for missing mail so often
that it's pointless having an anti-spam system in the first place.

Personal spam filtering is punishing on yourself, it requires too much
management (I've never come across a system that is foolproof) and
inevitably stuffs up some mail that you actually needed. Spam
filtering really needs to be done at the ISP level (not letting spam to
be posted in the first place, and recognising that the same message
being sent to masses of your customers and faked addresses is
definitely spam).

I pick the middle two options. I post to mailing lists using an
alternate address than my personal mail, I make it clear I don't want
private messages sent to me, and the server only allows posts from the
mailing list back. I don't have to do anything, it automatically
deletes the disallowed mail.

If a list member does want to contact me privately they can let me
know, and I may consider it and I'll get in touch another way. But I
don't really want to chat with strangers, so this method suits me fine.

Boilerplate: All unexpected mail to my mailbox is automatically deleted.
I will only get to see the messages that are posted to the mailing list.
