FWIW, I am a KDE Desktop user.

I have "kde connect" installed on my Samsung phones. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.kde.kdeconnect_tp <https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.kde.kdeconnect_tp>

This doesn't use bluetooth, but does add extra features/abilities. And it transfers files
without problem.  For me, I find this a better solution since not all my desktop systems
    have bluetooth.

Yes but that does not solve the problem. All it does is work around it.

Which is why I said "FWIW".

I mean if I need to transfer files from a another device which does not have or supports KDE Connect, I am back in the same bind.

I suppose I could test it for you.  But have you tried installing an app such as https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=bluetoothx.filetransfer.become ?
