Yes, I can login, but the locale settings appear to be wrong:
$ locale
locale: Cannot set LC_CTYPE to default locale: No such file or directory

LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8,LANG=en_US.UTF-8

Does your user on that "remote" machine have a ~/.ssh/config file?
No. There is no .ssh directory [yet], as the remote user never used ssh.
OK. Sorry, I've not used and wasn't familiar with ssh_config. I'm in error is looking at the remote side.
So, does the "local" system from which you issue the ssh command have a .ssh/config file?
And, is the "local" system also a fedora system?
