If this was mentioned in a previous email, I missed it. If you have an NVidia graphics card, the live images don't have the proprietary drivers. That's a likely cause of any freezing issues. If you create the live boot disk with an overlay, you could install the drivers on it. The only way I know how to do it is to use livecd-iso-to-disk from the livecd-tools package. Maybe someone else knows a simpler method.

But also the newer live images have newer kernels which could possibly have fixes for the nouveau driver to avoid the problems you're seeing. So definitely try the F31 respin image.
