If you have both the i686 and x86_64 versions of gedit installed, try

I lost the top of this thread. Did you do
$ sudo dnf system-upgrade download --allowerasing --refresh --releasever=26
to start the upgrade? Note the reboot doesn't do any downloads--it
just installs the RPMs already downloaded via the "dnf system-upgrade
download" command.

We have been having near continuous
t-storms all night it seems and rain
kills my path to the satellite but it
appears to have let up so I am trying
the command line [again] as suggested.
I first dnf removed gedit which took out
the i686 files and did:
dnf system-upgrade download --allowerasing --refresh --releasever=26
as suggested. It skipped all the
previously downloaded files, added
several more and completed that part in
a minute or so. The upgrade was rebooted
and it is presently installing 3821 files.
Hopefully this will succeed, I will
report the result later this morning.
Thanks for the help,
Bob
