Getting both versions of gedit installed would have been a "difficult" thing to accomplish. For the heck of it I just tried to install and while it did download a bunch of dependencies it tailed the transaction test with.... Error: Transaction check error: file /usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas/org.gnome.gedit.enums.xml from install of gedit-2:3.22.0-4.fc26.i686 conflicts with file from package gedit-2:3.22.0-4.fc26.x86_64 -- Fedora Users List - The place to go to speculate endlessly
